BTW, the band that started it all....all of it..is playing at 'home' tonight. The orig. Wailers are playing a big dance at the Tacoma Elks at S.23rd and Union. Take Union St. exit off Hwy.16 (Bremerton exit just south of Tacoma Dome, off I-5). Hang a right..2 blocks and you're on top of it. Dinner 4PM ...Dance to follow at 6:30til? Tickets at the door til sold out....

......this is like seeing Son House playing in Clarksdale, Miss.!

I saw the Wailers four or five years ago, in Las Vegas. Maybe it was just that they were in Vegas that they came over too much like an old lounge act rather than the real rock'n'roll group that I know them for from their old records. How were they at that recent show?

Like any grizzled side on their home pitch. That good enough brit translation? Seriously, when Buck O. lays down that insideous bass UNDERTONE.....the world stops......

        They were fookin great!

Good to hear it, Philip. Maybe when I go to visit my friend in Vancouver next year we should make a trip down to the land of the Wailers, Sonics, Kingsmen, et all, too.

            Absolutely! But bring poundage...

First round's on you-and there are approx 7 million more Northwest residents than when Rockin' Robin Roberts passed away......

And you'll no doubt be pleased to hear that I played Rockin' Robin Roberts, on original Etiquette vinyl, when I did a show on BBC 6Music recently. The Sonics and the Wailers also got a look in, by the way.
