THE SECOND COMING

The most important rock and roll band of all time has returned. The Sonics played last night at Cavestomp in NYC....and will play another set Sunday. I grew up listening to garage rock in the Seattle-Tacoma area...'The Witch' was top 10 for months in '64---(convincing me those clever Beatles were good...but not as good as our local bands; as a 7 yr. old., I was sure that was the case in every town......), thanks to KJR radio DJ Pat O'Day (who appears on the radio today hawking the treatment center he sobered up in!). Pat helped organize the last time Gerald Rosilee appeared with the Papyra Bros., Rob Lind and Bob Bennett--a benefit concert at the Seattle Paramount in '72 co-headlining with The Ventures ("The Biggest Thing In The World") and other local gods. That was 35 years ago.

Now, Rosilee has returned from that lil' cabin just outside his own private "crossroads" of the mind to blow our collective one. The prophesy (..damn! forgot to write down the prophesy....) has been fulfilled. Buck Ormsby has been proven correct. And a generation of grandparents ....are still mortally afraid of the Sonics and are gathering in vigil to pray........
