R.I.P. Ron Asheton
Stooges Guitarist
The Stooges were from that legendary elite group of Detroit garage bands from the late sixties, including The Amboy Dukes, the MC5, Grand Funk Railroad, Alice Cooper, and the Bob Seger System. Anyone who had listened to Punk rock in the seventies, and Alternative rock in the eighties, will no doubt mention Iggy Pop and the Stooges, and mention their influence on Rock. R.I.P. Ron, my prayers to you and your family, and my best wishes to Iggy, hoping that he will keep the flame alive.

Re: R.I.P. Ron Asheton
Sat, January 10, 2009 - 8:38 PM...the "Midsummer Rock" NBC footage from your town, circa '70 is one of the best complete documents of extended Ron jamming with the famous Iggy trip into the throng...thanks.
